The left alliance of CPN-UML and CPN
(Maoist Centre) has almost finalised seat-sharing arrangement for the
upcoming provincial and federal polls, sources said.
Although the seat-sharing was expected to be finalised on Wednesday, consensus could not be reached as both the parties laid claim to some of the constituencies as their strongholds.
A meeting of a taskforce formed by the alliance to discuss the seat-sharing on Thursday has almost finalised the seat ratio for both the parties, a leader of the taskforce said.
The taskforce has submitted the remaining constituencies to respective party chairmen for discussion.
CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will finalise seat-sharing arrangement after discussing the disputed constituencies.
Leaders privy to the development say that Maoist Centre is likely to get 56 out of 165 FPTP seats for federal constituencies.
